This $6 million lump sum project comprised the construction of a new 12 bed adolescent acute mental health inpatient unit located at the Box Hill Hospital.
Each bedroom had independent ensuites with two of the bedrooms being high dependency units, including seclusion room, internal courtyard and high dependency lounge. Other facilities included a medications room, treatment room, quiet room, bathroom, laundry group/classrooms and kitchen.
Staff facilities comprised a staff base station, separate office wing and interview and meeting rooms.
The building is connected to the Box Hill Hospital but retains independant building services and utilities.
The building is future proofed via a concrete roof structure that will enable vertical expansion.
The project was completed in September 2007.
