Construction of a new $52 million community and civic centre located in Sunshine, Victoria.
The striking design by Lyons, which draws on the saw tooth industrial heritage of the site, opens onto Hampshire Road and the surrounding precinct creating a great environment for learning and community collaboration.
The six level building houses a new Sunshine Library set over the first two floors with a large double height reading room and areas for different user groups including children, teens, and adults.
A customer service centre and a local history interpretive centre make up the ground floor footprint.
The second floor also includes a learning centre and community rooms, the council chamber, and an exhibition space.
The project has achieved 5 Star Green Star - Public Building Design v1.
The project reached Practical Completion in the second quarter of 2016.
