Cabarita Swimming Centre has been completely refurbished into an outdoor leisure facility.

The works replaced outdated buildings and amenities have been replaced with a new visually spectacular entry and amenities building consisting of a new community room, kiosk, changing rooms and refurbished timber and grass seating areas.

The existing eight lane 50m pool was totally refurbished with new wet edge gutters, tiles and filtration equipment. A new plant room was constructed to house the mechanical systems associated with the pool water filtration units, pumps, dosing equipment, gas fired pool water heater, gas hot water heaters for showers, air conditioning plant and rainwater reuse tank.

The Centre is located right on the shores of the Parramatta River with spectacular views to the east and adjacent yacht club. Extensive use of timber decking, glazed balustrades and balconies make the most of this outlook.

Work on the upgrade commenced in January 2008 and the centre was open to the public from Monday, 29 December 2008. This is the second project Kane has completed with City of Canada Bay Council and Suters Architects.
