This $33 million project involved the design and construction of two new facilities for the La Trobe University Rural Health School located in the Victorian regional centre of Bendigo.

The first facility, the Clinical Teaching Building is co-located with the Monash University School of Rural Health and the Primary Health Care Clinic on the site of the Bendigo Health campus.

The vision for the Clinical Teaching Building is to create a diverse yet holistic student, research and academic experience by continuing to offer choice to satisfy a variety of social needs, teaching, research and learning environments. The new building will be used by a number of related disciplines including: nursing and midwifery, dentistry, oral health, human biosciences, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, speech pathology, paramedic practice, health sciences and social work.

Both buildings were designed to achieve a 5 star Green Star design rating under the GBCA Education v1 rating tool, in keeping with La Trobe University’s commitment to sustainability.

Works were completed in late-2012.
