This $2 million lump contract was completed in late 2002 and comprised the construction of new Proteomics Laboratories at the Royal Children's Hospital.

The project invovled a conversion of the existing Level 8 East Wing of from a conventional hospital ward to a world class research laboratory for the Ludwig Institute of Medical Research. Works included the diversion of existing hospital services through the new site and the installation of new medical gasses, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and services. The new facility included a coolroom, several offices and substantial PC2 laboratory spaces with purpose built joinery, specialist lighting and new fume cupboards.

New plant rooms were built within the floor space and required addition structural steel supports to be installed on the floor below.

There was a high level of interface between the existing hospital infrastructure and the new works, with several planned services shutdowns after-hours required for the connection of new services.
