Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard yesterday morning visited Kane Constructions to check the progress at the Camden War Memorial Pool Redevelopment currently under way in the south western suburb of Camden Sydney.
The $4m redevelopment will provide the facility with a new eight lane 50m competition pool, leisure pool with wet play park consisting of water features and beach entry, new pool treatment equipment, upgraded lighting, clubhouse, new concourse and landscaped areas, disabled access facilities and pool entry.
The facility has been designed by Lippmann Partnership Architects with Pool Engineers Stevenson and Associates providing the blue print for the new 50m pool, water treatment equipment and leisure pool.
Once completed, the centre will provide the local swimming club, school groups and the local community with a facility in line with current swimming standards to help groom our next swimming stars, as well a vibrant place to enjoy the summer months.
Works at the Camden War memorial Pool commenced in late March 2010 and the project is already well on track for completion in November - right on time for the Summer Swim Season.
The award of this project to Kane Constructions strengthens our experience and capabilities in building high standard pools on the back of the previously completed Emerton Aquatic Centre, Enfield Pool and Cabarita Aquatic Centre, to name just a few.
