Epworth Healthcare Geelong and Richmond

Kane Constructions has been shortlisted to bid for two major hospital developments being undertaken by Epworth Healthcare : Geelong and Richmond.

Epworth Geelong Development Stage 1:

The $277 million Geelong Development Stage 1 comprises a new teaching hospital located at a Greenfield site in Waurn Ponds Geelong, adjacent to the Deakin University campus with whom Epworth are partnering. 

The new facility will comprise 254 inpatient beds, 12 ICU beds, 9 operating theatres, 2 catheter laboratories, 2 procedure rooms, a 20 cubicle emergency department, 8 special care nursery cots, a clinical education and simulation precinct, Medical consulting suites and Retail space.

Epworth Richmond Redevelopment Stage 4:

Stage 4 of the $350 million Richmond Redevelopment (referred to as Pod 4 or East Pod) comprises the construction of a new 13 level building including five levels of basement car park. The new facility will house a 34 cubicle Emergency Department, a 26 bed Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit & Inpatient Unit, Consulting Suites, 119 Acute Inpatient Rooms with ensuites, 6 Theatres and additional basement Car Parking.

Kane Constructions has been based at Epworth Richmond since 2012, completing the Stage 3 works which included a new Day Medical Unit and two Prototype Rooms, a Clinical Education and Simulation Centre and three new operating theatres in the Bridge Road tower. 

We are currently undertaking the Stage 4 early works comprising the excavation and retention system for the five level basement car park.
