Kane Constructions has been shortlisted to bid for the Dandenong Municipal Building project - a further reinforcement of our strong relationship with the City of Greater Dandenong developed during construction of the award winning Drum Theatre, the Springvale Integrated Services Hub and the recently completed Noble Park Aquatic Centre.
The building has been designed by Lyons architects who have an excellent track record in the design of iconic and award-winning public buildings.
The new municipal building will have a striking sandstone and anodised aluminium facade and will include a new regional Library; Council chamber; community meeting spaces; outdoor space in the mould of Federation Square and will bring together council staff in one building from the current Springvale and Dandenong offices.
The outdoor civic space will include an events stage, cafe; outdoor area and landscaping. Council is also seeking funding for a giant video screen.

- The estimated project cost is $62 million
- Demolition will start in July 2012
- Construction will start September 2012
- Completion date is March 2014
