Kane Constructions has been short listed to tender for the new $52 million Brimbank Community and Civic Centre project.
The striking design by Lyons, which draws on the saw tooth industrial heritage of the site, will open onto Hampshire Road and the surrounding precinct creating a great environment for learning and community collaboration.
The design includes an exceptional new Sunshine Library set over the first two floors with a large double height reading room and areas for different user groups including children, teens, and adults.
A new customer service centre and a local history interpretive centre make up the ground floor footprint. The second floor also includes a learning centre and community rooms, the council chamber, and an exhibition space.
In addition to being a landmark building in its own right, the new building will contribute to the ongoing renewal of the Sunshine town centre.
