A joint venture between Kane Constructions and Macquarie Builders has been short listed to bid for the Blundstone Arena Redevelopment in Hobart, Tasmania.
The $30 million redevelopment has been designed by Artas Architects and Suters. Upon completion the new facilities will increase the cricket stadium’s capacity to 20,000 and deliver elite training, gym and rehabilitation facilities to cater for international cricket and AFL football matches.
The new stand will replace existing infrastructure on the western side of the ground and be connected to the Southern Stand. It will also provide a new entry to the ground.
Kane Director Tristan Forster: 'This is very much a project for the people of Hobart, and Tasmania, and we are very pleased to able to bring the skills and knowledge gained from our work at Simonds Stadium in Geelong to the JV. Macquarie Builders are a well respected operation who have been successfully delivering projects in Tasmania for over 20 years. Both our companies have a very similar culture and most importantly - we love building! We're very pleased that the JV has been short listed to bid for this exciting project.'
Kane Constructions delivered the Noble Park Aquatic Centre with Suters last year and is currently completing the Southern Stand and new Light Towers at Simonds Stadium in Victoria.
Macquarie Builders have delivered a wide variety of projects in Hobart and across Tasmania including the Tasmanian Hockey Centre.
