Kane Constructions has been appointed to construct the La Trobe Melbourne Building Project - a new six level facility comprising 7500m2 of teaching space.
Located adjacent to the Education Buildings east of Peribolos, the new building will accomodate Foundation Studies and Diploma Programs for overseas students - courses which are currently being run off campus.
The total budget for the project is $45 million and is being funded by the University.
Works commence on site next month with the project due for completion in early 2014.
The design features a prominent precast concrete facade and is targeting a 5 Star Green Star design accreditation utilising the Green Star Education v1 tool.
The project team includes Coffey Projects, Lyons, Norman Disney & Young, Bonacci Group, WT Partnership and PLP Building Surveyors & Consultants.
Kane is currently nearing completion of two projects for La Trobe University in Bendigo - the Health Sciences Building and the Clinical Teaching Building.
We are proud to continue to deliver first class facilities for La Trobe University.
