Pioneering Australian scientist Sir Gustav (‘Gus’) Nossal was honoured at the recent official opening of Victoria’s third selective entry high school – Nossal High – which will accommodate some of Victoria’s high-achieving students and was completed by Kane constructions in 2010.
“Nossal High provides an academically rich environment for some of our brightest children,” Education Minister Brownyn Pike said at the official opening.
The modern, open-plan learning environment at the new selective entry school will allow students to specialise in art, science, information technology and robotics.
Students will be partnered and supported by Monash University and Chisholm TAFE, giving them unique opportunities to excel, grow and learn.
Sir Gus attended the opening of the school named in his honour and was on hand at the unveiling of a magnificent wall mural depicting his early research days as a young adult through to today.
