Kane Constructions has commenced redeveopment works at the historic Eastern Beach Pool in Geelong.
The $4 million contract involves the construction of new pool shell and associated works.
The ageing pool had reached the end of its service life and will be completely rebuilt. The project is being funded by the Federal Government ($3.1 million) and the City of Greater Geelong ($1.8 million).
The children’s pool redevelopment is the final stage of the $6 million Eastern Beach restoration project, which included the seawalls and dive tower replacement, the stabilisation of the embankment and the irrigation system upgrade.
Works will be completed in late 2011. The project is representative of Kane's long history of successfully delivering projects for the Geelong community.
