Kane was awarded the lump sum contract in November 2014 for the Trinity College Gateway Building Early/Enabling Works.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Glyn Davis has turned the ceremonial sod for Trinity College’s new Gateway building to mark the first stage of the project.
The Gateway will be located near the western end of Tin Alley and will link Trinity and the University.
The building will house teaching facilities, including laboratories, tutorial rooms and an auditorium, an art gallery and studio, music practice rooms and drama spaces. On a recent sunny afternoon, the Vice-Chancellor was joined by various key Trinity staff, including Mr Campbell Bairstow, Provost, Mr Jim Craig, Chairman of the Board, and other members of the board.
The Reverend Canon Professor Dorothy Lee, Dean of the Theological School, was present to offer a prayer for the new building.
