Our Vertical Village project located within Brisbane's iconic Riverside Centre is nearing completion. The unique project was profiled in the Courier Mail today:
"Kane Constructions don’t mind a challenge.
And when the challenge is to create a multi-level Vertical Village — complete with a 20-tonne three-level spiral staircase in one of the Brisbane CBD’s premium office towers — it was just part of the job.
“We tend to specialise in unusual and we enjoy the craft of building,” said Kane Queensland director David Rutter.
“When we come across projects that are challenging or difficult and people look at it and say `how the hell can you get a 20-tonne staircase inside an existing city building’, our ears prick up and we think that sounds interesting, let’s have a look at how we can do that.”
Designed by architecture firm Hassell, the Vertical Village, over levels five to seven, is part of an extensive refurbishment in the GPT-owned Riverside Centre."
