Kane Constructions has been a national sponsor of the Oxfam Trailwalker in Australia since 2003.
At the crack of dawn on Friday 23 March, a record four teams (three Kane and one arete) set off to conquer the gruelling 100km walk from Wheelers Hill to Warburton.
Spirits were high as the teams hit the trail in balmy conditions with fantastic support from the legion of Kane volunteers who assisted with early morning car parking duties.
arete team 1, led by arete’s Construction Manager Matthew Rossi, set a cracking pace finishing in 21 hours and ranking 40th out of 508 teams overall.
Former Managing Director Tony Isaacson has cemented his Oxfam Trailwalker legend status having now completed over ten trail walks. He looked to be enjoying the Moroccan chicken curry (top image) with some much needed banter from Project Manager Gary Tivendale who provided fantastic support to all the teams throughout the event.
The four teams have raised over $25,000 for Oxfam to help overcome poverty and injustice around the world.
A massive thank you to the Kane volunteers and support crew that assist each year in ensuring that the teams get through to the finish line.
It's not too late to make a donation.
