Kane Constructions has been awarded the $28m Design & Construct contract to deliver the Lindfield Village Green project for Ku-ring-gai Council.
This 18-month project will see the creation of a new vibrant, safe and meaningful civic space for Lindfield residents, commuters and visitors.
Set on a site of approximately 5,350sqm, the Lindfield Village Green construction consists of a pavilion suitable for a café or restaurant, and includes a public plaza, amenities, dual lifts and stair access to a three level underground 241 space car park.
The open space on ground level is designed as an exemplar of sustainable urbanism, with landscaped recreational space.
The village is designed for social gatherings and easy movement of pedestrians and cyclists to the train station.
When complete, the Lindfield Village Green may host markets, an outdoor cinema, live music and other performances to enliven the area.
Works commenced on-site in late April 2020, and the project is set for completion in October 2021.
