On Friday 17th July 2020, the Master Builders Queensland Awards ceremony was live streamed to a captive at-home audience who were able to watch Kane Constructions be presented with the ‘Best Commercial Building up to $5 million’ award for our Queensland QUT (Queensland University of Technology) P Block project.
Completed in November 2019, the highly technical and challenging project involved construction of a new 24m high lift shaft and installation of a new lift, increasing the height of the existing lift shaft and installation of a second lift. Once the lifts were constructed, a new structural steel walkway was built above the existing ring road and connected into Level 3 of B Block across the road. Works were completed in a fully operational environment at the QUT campus on a sloping and logistically challenging site with adverse ground conditions.
