Kane Queensland was awarded the $8M NoosaCare Carramar Cartwright Community Extension & Aged Care Building, Stage 2 project in June 2020.
On Wednesday 22nd July, this achievement was marked with the turning of sod ceremony that was attended by the Kane project team, led by Sunshine Coast General Manager, Mark Grimsey, along with the Mayor for Noosa, Clare Stewart and NoosaCare’s President, Ann Harrap and CEO, Megan D’Elton.
Ms D’Elton said, “It was evident that even though we have 32 beds, we had such a long waitlist for dementia unfortunately from people living in the community, so we felt we needed to expand on that to provide the service to those residents.”
Due for completion in March 2021, the ceremony marks the beginning of construction on the project, which includes a 32 bed, two-storey residential building and a new welcome centre for people living with dementia and their families.
