Our partnership with Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) continues to strengthen. MITS exists to create pathways to greater opportunity for Indigenous students from remote and regional communities in NT and Victoria, so that they may lead lives full of choice and opportunity. Each year MITS delivers a Year 7 program to 22 students after which students can transition to Melbourne partner schools across independent, government and catholic sectors.
Following on from the successful completion of the MITS Girls Boarding House Refurbishment, Kane will now deliver its interim boarding house at 364 Church Street at cost.
The 130-year-old double story Victorian terrace is being converted into residential accommodation for young indigenous students, which will assist in providing Indigenous students with a pathway to a bright future.
“It’s rewarding to contribute to such a worthy cause. The Kane team feels fortunate to be involved in promoting educational opportunities for Indigenous Australians, and ultimately, delivering positive community impact.” Alex Evans Contract Manager
