On Thursday 23 September, Kane Queensland celebrated the sod-turning ceremony at The Electro Group Renewable Energy Training Facility.
In attendance was Hon Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Hon Di Farmer, Hon Mick de Brenni, Hon Mark Bailey, Donna Pickford, CEO of Electro Group, John Crittal, Chairman of Electro Group and the Kane project team.
The state-of-the-art facility is a significant investment by the Queensland Government in creating a dedicated renewable energy training facility as part of their renewable energy target. The facility will provide training in electrical, solar and telecommunications for thousands of Queenslanders.
Construction consists of a training and administration integrated complex, an administration block and a specialist training field.
The building and training field will feature a significant number of renewable energy technologies including solar system, wind turbines, dual-axis solar tracking array, 20m climbing tower, 10m telecommunicate ions tower, battery storage room and prototype houses for roof installation.
The project is set to reach Practical Completion in mid-2022.
