Kane Constructions is currently delivering the $10 million Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery (ACMD) Early Works project under a GMP contract.
Located at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, ACMD will be a medical epicentre of ground-breaking research, innovative technology and health solutions, all designed with the patient in mind.
Core to the Centre’s work is the focus on driving significant medical change through the development of smart devices, bionics and implantables to improve the quality of life for patients with chronic health issues; the use of artificial and digital technology to provide tailored treatment; and shaping smart devices to regrow and repair organs, cells and tissues.
Construction management works of the early works package for the ACMD building are well underway and are on track for completion in the third quarter of 2022.
ACMD is Australia’s first, collaborative, hospital-based biomedical engineering research facility and will put Australia on the map as a medical innovator that combines engineering and medicine to fast-track medical discoveries.
