The Kane Constructions NSW team was delighted to host the traditional First Nations smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country by Uncle Allen Madden to launch the construction of The Prince’s Quarter social housing development in Glebe, Sydney.
Kane is honoured to have been entrusted as the builder of choice and to continue its partnership with the NSW Land and Housing Corporation to deliver this exemplary new sustainable social housing development in Glebe.
The construction of 75 new sustainable social housing apartments and terrace houses is targeting a 6 Star Green Star and 7 Star NatHERS rating. The design is inspired by Glebe’s iconic Victorian terraces and historic woolstore buildings, with the design being delivered utilising BIM at LOD 400.
Kane’s Joint Managing Director Tristan Forster was joined by Homes and Planning Minister Anthony Roberts, Social Housing Minister Natasha Maclaren-Jones, Chief Executive NSW Land and Housing Corporation Simon Newport, and Prince’s Trust Australia Chair, the Hon. Julie Bishop to turn the first sod on The Prince's Quarter.
Kane is excited to partner with consultants GroupGSA, Taylor Thomson Whitting (TTW), IINGEN, Scientific Fire Services, Pulse White Noise Acoustics, Douglas Partners, Vista Access Architects, Integral Group, Turf Design Studio, and the incumbent design team led by JPW to deliver this exciting new social housing transformation.
The Prince’s Quarter is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
