Kane Constructions is excited to share that the first concrete slab was poured for Stage 2 of the Frankston Redevelopment project.
Following the successful delivery of the Chisholm TAFE Frankston Early Works project, Kane was awarded the $67.6 million Design & Construct contract to deliver Stage 2 of the Chisholm TAFE Frankston Redevelopment.
This new multi-level learning facility delivers 9,600 square metres of contemporary learning space. Works include new state-of-the-art learning hubs designed for courses that will respond to growing local industry needs. The learning hubs are situated over three levels and positioned around the building's atrium.
The precinct will bring student support services together in a new Student Hub, along with gallery space for art students and on-site food and retail outlets. An outdoor precinct with an amphitheatre, along with outdoor spaces for recreation will be created on campus as well as connections to the nearby Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre and Frankston Station.
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Chisholm Institute as a key construction partner,” says Ben Barrett Kane Constructions Construction Manager.
“Upon completion, the Stage 2 Redevelopment will be an intrinsic addition to the Frankston Campus. The new world-class education spaces will support the growing demand for education and training opportunities. We look forward to working with key project partners TSA Management, Gray Puksand, Slattery, Northrop and AECOM to deliver this outstanding facility. ”
Construction of Stage 2 is due for completion in 2023. The project will provide 132 jobs, including 25 apprenticeships and at least 30 new teaching positions over the next decade increasing opportunities in education, employment and skills for the Frankston region and Melbourne’s south east corridor.
