The Lindfield Village Green opened to the public on 14 February 2022. Kane Constructions recently completed the Design and Construct contract for Ku-ring-gai Council, with the car park key anchor tenant Transport for NSW.
This exciting project has transformed the existing council owned car park at Tryon Road, Lindfield, into a vibrant new public space. The village plays a central role in community life for residents, staff, commuters, shoppers and visitors in the area. The project was built for social gatherings and easy movement of pedestrians and cyclists to the train station.
New features of the project include a striking pavilion building with café and outdoor dining facilities, a public plaza, amenities, dual lifts and stair access to a three-level underground car park with 241 spaces. Two gazebos shaded by specially selected fast-growing plants and two water features are also part of the Village Green.
Now complete, the Village Green will host markets, an outdoor cinema, live music and other performances to enliven the area.
Lindfield Village Green is a modern example of sustainable urbanism. The project displays water sensitive urban design showcasing an on-site water recycling system, water capture, storage and reuse, and water conservation systems. The Kane team shared the vision to deliver a sustainable and exciting transformation for the community.
