Our ACT General Manager Jo Farrell has been named as the ACT 2024 Australian of the Year.
At a ceremony held at the National Gallery of Australia on Monday evening, Jo received the top award in recognition for being at the forefront of promoting gender balance in our industry.
In 2020, Jo founded ‘Build Like a Girl’, a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to empower and support girls and women in pursuing careers in the trades. Her tireless efforts and advocacy have fostered partnerships with government, industry bodies, unions, training organisations and builders to facilitate the recruitment, training, and employment of women in trade roles.
We are incredibly proud of Jo and her contribution to the industry. We are not biased but we feel Jo would be a worthy winner of the national award when announced on 25th January 2024!
