The Angliss Hospital in Melbourne’s east is set for a major transformation with Kane awarded the lump sum contract of $76 million to build the Stage 2 expansion.
Today, we were excited to welcome the Minister for Health Infrastructure Mary-Anne Thomas, who turned the first sod for this significant project. The ceremony was also attended by local MPs Daniela De Martino and Jackson Taylor, along with Eastern Health Board Chair Tass Mousaferiadis and CEO David Plunkett.
This project is a vital part of Eastern Health’s master plan, aimed at meeting the growing demand for acute services and establishing Angliss Hospital as a premier elective surgery hub. The design, inspired by the Dandenong Ranges, emphasizes enhancing patient care and staff wellbeing with plenty of natural light and comfortable spaces. We are targeting completion in 2026.
On the back of the successful delivery of Stage 1 Critical Care and ED Short Stay works in 2018, we extend our thanks to the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) and Eastern Health for their continued partnership.
Minister Mary-Anne Thomas was incredibly generous with her time, engaging deeply with our team members Kate Dawson, Olivia Soukis, and Alissa Mariano to understand their roles in the project. Kate shared her rewarding experiences in the industry and highlighted the flexible working arrangements at Kane that allow her to balance family and work commitments.
A shout out to the consultant team Ontoit, Silver Thomas Hanley, LCI Consultants, Meinhardt Group, Altus Group, Onemilegrid, Codus, Inhabit Group, Affinity Fire Engineering, WGA and Arcadia Landscape Architecture who we are working closely with to bring this project to life.
