Kane appointed to deliver Twelve Apostles precinct redevelopment

17th February, 2025

Kane Constructions is proud to announce our appointment as the head contractor for the Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment project. This redevelopment is supported by the Australian and Victorian Governments through the Geelong City Deal. This redevelopment marks a major step in enhancing one of Australia’s most iconic destinations.

At the heart of the project is the state-of-the-art Visitor Experience Centre, designed to harmonise with the natural landscape while promoting sustainability and Traditional Owner values. The centre will feature flexible spaces for retail, dining, and exhibitions, along with a rooftop observation deck offering stunning views of the Shipwreck Coast. Additional amenities include modern washrooms, office spaces, and maintenance areas.

The redevelopment also includes expanded car park facilities, intuitive wayfinding systems, and upgraded road infrastructure to support emergency access. The design emphasises a minimal environmental footprint and will rejuvenate the landscape with native grasses and coastal flora. A new Welcome Garden, celebrating Eastern Maar cultural and environmental heritage, will enhance the visitor experience with a rooftop garden overlooking the coastline.

The construction is expected to create 90 full-time jobs during the redevelopment, and up to 70 jobs in the planning, project management and design phases of the project. The new visitor experience centre will also create up to 50 ongoing jobs once it opens. Kane is honoured to lead this transformative project, which will celebrate the region’s unique heritage and natural beauty for generations to come.
