Kane Constructions is proud to announce that it has been awarded the $106 million Iglu William Street project, a landmark student accommodation development in the heart of Melbourne.
Located on William Street, the project’s prime location offers students easy access to Melbourne’s educational institutions, public transport, and the city’s vibrant cultural scene. This strategic positioning ensures that Iglu William Street will be a highly sought-after address for students.
Designed by Bates Smart, the project involves the construction of twin towers rising 10 and 20 levels, respectively, and includes a total of 485 rooms, comprising 443 studios and 21 twin-shared rooms, accommodating up to 485 students. This 24-storey development, inclusive of a basement level, exemplifies modern architectural design tailored to meet the needs of student residents.
Kane has always been committed to sustainability, and the Iglu William Street project is no exception. The building will incorporate energy-efficient systems, water-saving fixtures, and sustainable materials, aiming to reduce its environmental impact significantly.
This project underscores Kane’s reputation for excellence in the construction of student accommodation, having successfully delivered two previous student accommodation buildings for Iglu at Melbourne Central and Flagstaff Gardens.
We look forward to working with Iglu and the wider consulting team to deliver this project.
