Kane Constructions has successfully completed the new multi-storey car park as part of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Stage 2 Redevelopment. This project is a critical milestone in the $619 million redevelopment plan led by the NSW Government, aimed at transforming paediatric health services in Western Sydney.
The state-of-the-art, eight-storey car park delivers over 1,000 new parking spaces, addressing the hospital’s current and future parking needs. Key features of the newly completed car park include:
- Sustainable Design: With solar panels installed on both the roof and the façade, the structure generates over 700kW of renewable energy, aligning with the hospital’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions
- Enhanced Facilities: The redevelopment incorporates landscaped areas, pedestrian pathways, and playground improvements, as well as new external signage and lighting, creating a welcoming and user-friendly environment
- Safety Measures: Kane implemented robust safety protocols to minimise disruptions to the hospital’s day-to-day operations, ensuring the project was completed efficiently and with minimal impact
This development signifies a major leap forward in the Westmead Health Precinct’s infrastructure growth, positioning it as one of the world's leading hubs for health, research, education, and training.
