After being selected via an expression of interest process, Kane were the successful tenderer for the supply and installation of new temporary facility works for the relocation of the 171st Aviation squadron to Holsworthy Army Base.
The project involved the supply and installation of new portable buildings within a tight time frame to facilitate the relocation of the 171st Aviation squadron from Darwin to the Holsworthy Barracks in New South Wales.
Works included reticulation and installation of new fire services, electrical, data, communications and security infrastructure to Department of Defence standards.
The portable buildings accommodation included a new reinforced concrete armoury, HQ buildings, amenities and change rooms. In addition, all necessary earthworks, carparks, stormwater, sewage and drainage were installed by Kane. The scope also involved refurbishment existing base facilities and change of use for several buildings.
The $4 million project reached practical completion in November 2006 following a four month programme.
