The Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) Refurbishment, was undertaken in two separable portions.
SP1 involved the demolition of the existing façade at the basement level and the removal of identified asbestos materials. This space was then turned from a concrete shell into a brand new commercial space housing the AMEB main reception, open plan office space, resource rooms, meeting rooms, kitchen and amenities areas. There were also various elements of hard landscaping completed.
SP2 involved the demolition of structural masonry walls to make way for a new multipurpose performance centre on the building’s top floor. This room features high-end acoustic-rated finishes and AV services.
The project was undertaken whilst maintaining a fully operational facility.
