The Kane Constructions and Nicholson Construction joint venture (KNJV) has been awarded the Ballarat Major Events Precinct project, a transformative initiative that will elevate Ballarat’s standing as a premier regional hub for sports and entertainment.
This development is part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program and includes the design and construction of two new grandstands at Mars Stadium, adding 5,000 permanent seats and state-of-the-art amenities. The project will also feature the creation of the Ballarat Regional Athletics Centre at the former Ballarat Showgrounds site, complete with a new athletics track, pavilion and lighting.
This project is being delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria, and has involved close collaboration with the City of Ballarat to ensure the project aligns with the broader vision for the Ballarat Major Events Precinct, ensuring a sustainable and inclusive legacy for the region. With accessibility improvements, landscaped public spaces, and cutting-edge facilities, the project reflects a commitment to community enrichment and excellence in regional sports infrastructure.
