In mid-2017, Kane Constructions was awarded a $79 million Design and Construct contract to deliver Cabrini Malvern’s Gandel Wing. This project represents a significant advancement in patient care, designed to enhance comfort and serenity.
This project underscores Cabrini's commitment to delivering exceptional care and sets a new benchmark in healthcare facilities with the 11 storey building, including four basement levels, redefining operational standards in healthcare with its innovative interior design.
Key features of the Gandel Wing include:
- Radiotherapy Centre: Integrated with contemporary day oncology units, offering comprehensive cancer care
- Expanded Maternity Facilities: Additional beds to support growing needs
- Improved Cardiac Services Unit: Enhanced capabilities for treating cardiac rhythm disorders and cardiac failure
- Upgraded Emergency Department: Equipped to manage increasingly complex patient cases
- Specialized Medical Wards: Dedicated spaces for stroke and infectious disease treatment
- Single Patient Rooms: Increased proportion for enhanced patient privacy and comfort
The inclusion of radiotherapy bunkers supports an integrated cancer care model, allowing patients to receive comprehensive treatment on-site.
