In 2022, Kane Constructions was engaged by the Department of Education to Design and Construct an extension for the Caloundra State School Multipurpose Hall.
The project involved demolishing the existing hall façade and constructing a new structural steel-framed extension. The expanded facility, featuring additional hall space, stage areas, and back-of-house facilities, is set to provide years of enjoyment and foster creative collaboration within the school community.
Under the Design and Construct contract, Kane incorporated the school's input into the design process, promoting collaboration and innovation while effectively managing costs.
During construction, Kane prioritised minimising disruptions to school activities. Strategic scheduling ensured that major deliveries were made outside of peak drop-off and pick-up times, and safety measures, including the deployment of spotters during busy periods, were implemented to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the public.
