Construction of a new free-standing canopy structure, within the Federation Square Plaza in Melbourne, Victoria.
The key components of this project included extensive and precise steel fabrication, customised roof glazing, specialist protective painting, integrated LED lighting, joinery and planter units.
A key challenge was coordinating installation of the prefabricated steel structural elements within an extremely busy public space.
The $2 million lump sum contract was completed over a 12 week period in late 2013 to enable the cafe to open for Christmas trading.
