Kane Constructions was appointed under a Design and Construct contract to deliver the new incubation space for manufacturing businesses at Deakin University.
The project aimed to establish an expanded and upscaled innovation hub and accelerator to enable the development of deployable and adaptive manufacturing innovation.
The project contributes to the University campus development plan by furthering the establishment of the ManuFutures Precinct. While the new ManuFutures 2 building is not anticipated to be a physical continuation of the existing ManuFutures 1 building, it now reads as one precinct, including covered and landscaped interconnections between buildings.
The new ceremonial entrance for both buildings is located in the central zone between ManuFutures 1 and 2, relocating the principal entry for ManuFutures 1 to the western end of that building.
The project reached Practical Completion in August 2022.
