Energex Substation - Victoria Park

The substation construction works at Victoria Park was completed in 2014.

The substation was constructed within an existing Energy Queensland site with a live substation yard, and will service the Herston area, the new Legacy Way road tunnel and provides redundancy for future increase in power consumption.

The works include the construction of the main substation building and service tunnel. Over 8,000 cubic meters of rock has been excavated for the basement and service tunnel.

The construction includes complex buildability challenges including steep gradients, work around live cables and equipment, excavation in rock and water table, coordination with underbored conduit installation, restricted site access and high load suspended slabs.
