Delivered by negotiated fixed price Lump sum tender for the Department of Finance Canberra. The works were carried out to the historic Fort Scratchley site, Newcastle.

Works included the restoration of heritage elements such as original Gunners cottage, barracks, fort gun emplacements and rampart tunnels. New building works included the Multipurpose Centre and Storage Shed. New site services were reticulated throughout the site.

As the project was essentially Commonwealth funded compliance with the Office of Federal Safety Commissioner was required and was an integral component of the successful completion of the works.

The project required works to occur across multiple areas simultaneously. Working within the confines of an existing Fort also imposed OH&S issues for the potential to discover live ammunition and ordinances. Kane implemented an extensive OH&S regime for works within the Fort areas and the confined spaces of the Rampart tunnels.
