Extensive refurbishment and expansion of Buildings G & H at the Gordon Institute of TAFE located in Geelong.
Works required the existing buildings to be stripped back to a cold shell and then the construction of new teaching and adminstration spaces. The scope also included treatment to the facades and new elevated walkways to link existing buildings. In total, over 13,000m2 of fitout works were delivered.
The project was staged to allow existing teaching spaces to remain in use and minimise the relocation of classes and lectures off campus. Extensive temporary works - especially power and ICT - were installed to maintain the surrounding buildings.
The $15 million lump sum contract was completed in 14 months with Practical Completion achieved in March 2005.
