Grand Hyatt Melbourne

This $20 million project at the prestigious Grand Hyatt Melbourne involved the redevelopment of the main Russell Street entrance, lobby and facade, the Collins Street façade and retail plaza, and creation of extra conference and dining facilities.

Kane Constructions scope also included development of 'The Residence', a spectacular event space unlike any other function venue in Australia. The Residence combines an impressive collection of individually styled rooms including a dramatic functional kitchen opening onto a stunning terrace over-looking Collins Street and an internal garden courtyard.

Access for construction was extremely limited with the hotel remaining fully operational throughout the works. The Kane Project Team worked closely with both the client and design consultants to deliver a first class facility with the highest standards of finishes.

Kane was awarded the lump sum contract in mid-2007 following a competitive tender process. The project reached practical completion in early 2009.
