Kane have been working with Greenslopes Private Hospital since April 2015 and to date have delivered four projects including the recently completed X-Ray Fitout. The scope of works included the demolition and fitout works within a live hospital environment. Kane worked closely with all key stakeholders on the project to ensure minimal disruptions to the day-to-day operations of the facilities.
Following several months of demolition and rectification works to accommodate two new tenancies within the lower ground floor of the hospital, Kane began fitout works on one of the new tenancies for Queensland X-Ray. The project included special radiation shielding in the form of both lead ceilings, and concrete bunkers. The area also has radiation monitoring detection systems. As a result of this development, Greenslopes Private Hospital now have the capability to carry out PET Camera scans within their new facility.
The project involved constructing complex concrete bunkers within a very tight space which had several areas of constraints, and the construction methodologies used to construct these were extremely unique. Kane changed the sequence of works and installed all reinforcement first, suspended the reinforcement between insitu walls, and followed on with forming up the area with formwork from the concrete lid, and poured from above.
