Undertaken on a Construct Only Contract, the original Mona Vale Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) was demolished to make way for a new two-storey facility constructed to a similar footprint as the existing and includes a 70-seat café and a 90-seat restaurant.
The Mona Vale Surf Club and Amenities Block project included:
- Amenities Block to the North of the beach
- Landscaped coastal walk from the new Amenities Block to the Surf Club
- State-of-the-art Surf Club including a cold shell for a new Café on the Ground Floor and restaurant on Level 1, storage area, canteen, gym, function space and bar area
The facility features textured raw concrete, Glulam structural timber work, Sculptform screening and extensive timber feature panelling. This material connects with the natural environment and withstands exposure to the elements.
The new single-storey Beach Amenities & Lifeguard Facility was constructed to replace the existing public amenities. The new amenity facility comprises male and female toilets, showers and change rooms in separate pavilions with a shared hand wash station and a separate pavilion for the lifeguard and first aid accommodation.
The new Mona Vale Surf SLSC is a fit-for-purpose facility enabling lifeguards to focus on supporting the community and saving lives.
The project works commenced in mid-April 2021 and were delivered in May 2022.
