In late 2023, Kane Constructions was engaged by the Department of Education to refurbish and extend the multipurpose hall at Nerang State High School on the Gold Coast.
Delivered under a Design and Construct model, the project involved relocating the performing stage from the hall's "long" edge to the newly extended "short" end, enhancing functionality and aesthetics. The opposite end was expanded to include a canteen, updated amenities, a bio-box, and essential back-of-house spaces to meet the school’s evolving needs.
External upgrades included relocating stormwater and sewer lines, as well as creating terraced seating that blends landscaped design with functional outdoor learning areas. Natural light and inviting archways enhance the hall's fresh atmosphere.
Kane maintained a strong commitment to stakeholder management and compliance with Department of Education requirements, prioritising student and staff safety by using hoarding fences and strictly following safety protocols.
