Kane Constructions delivered a new state-of-the-art aquatic and community facility for northern Geelong.
City of Greater Geelong engaged Kane under a Lump Sum contract in January 2022.
The facility replaced the existing Waterworld facility and Centenary Hall which was demolished as part of the contract works. The new aquatic centre and community hub has a 5 Star certification under the Green Star Design & As-Built v1.2 rating tool, demonstrating Australian design excellence in aquatic centres.
The project includes:
- A 25 metre indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, learn to swim pool, water play area and waterslide
- 1000 square metres of multi-purpose community space
- Spa, sauna, and steam room
- Gymnasium, program rooms and occasional care facilities
- Café
- Expanded car parking and landscaping
- Improvements to Corio Library
The project commenced in February 2022 and reached Practical Completion in January 2024.
