In mid-2017, Kane Constructions was awarded a $50 million Lump Sum Contract to deliver the Orygen Poplar Road Precinct Redevelopment Project.

Orygen, the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, is the world’s leading research and knowledge translation organisation dedicated to addressing mental ill-health in young people. This state-of-the-art facility, designed to foster collaboration and innovation, significantly enhances Orygen's capacity for growth in clinical, educational, training, and research services.

The redevelopment was executed in two stages to minimise disruption to ongoing operations:

Separable Portion 1:

  • Demolition of existing portable accommodation
  • Construction of a new four-story facility
  • Completed in the last quarter of 2018

Separable Portion 2:

  • Transition of existing main building operations to the new facility
  • Demolition of administration and clinical buildings
  • Construction of a new car park and extensive landscaping works
  • Completed in the last quarter of 2018

The Orygen Poplar Road Precinct Redevelopment Project reached Practical Completion in November 2018.
