Kane Constructions was awarded the contract for the multi-storey car park as part of the $619 million Children’s Hospital at Westmead Stage 2 Redevelopment.
The project involved the construction of a state-of-the-art, eight-storey car park featuring over 1,000 spaces, helping meet the hospital’s current and future parking needs.
This redevelopment was designed to accommodate the rapid growth of healthcare services in the area, replacing parking capacity lost due to the demolition of the P17 car park.
Key features of the development include:
- Landscaped Areas: Providing a pleasant, green space around the car park
- Pedestrian Pathways and Playgrounds: Enhancing accessibility and recreational opportunities
- Fire & Rescue NSW Access: Including a dedicated slip lane and booster for emergency services
- External Signage and Lighting: Improving navigation and safety for pedestrians and drivers
Kane Constructions approached this project with the utmost care, understanding the sensitive nature of construction within a hospital setting. Our priority was to ensure the project was delivered on time, while minimising noise and disruption to hospital operations.
The car park was completed in June 2024, marking another successful milestone in the continued redevelopment of The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
