In the second quarter of 2018, Kane Constructions was awarded the Construction Management contract to deliver The Royal Melbourne Hospital Critical Infrastructure project.
Works were undertaken in a fully operational hospital environment and included:
- Façade and building structural remediation works
- OH&S prevention works which consists of upgrade works to the hospitals operating theatres, emergency department, main entrance, lift lobbies, stroke unit and wards
- Internal demolition of the former Victorian Infectious Disease Reference Laboratory and new office fitout - Jane Bell House is now a contemporary workplace for Royal Melbourne Hospital's administration team
- Upgrade of two lifts
- Combustible cladding replacement
- Link bridge demolition
- Heritage slate roof replacement
This project reached Practical Completion in December 2019.
