In January 2021, Healthscope awarded Kane Constructions The Victoria Clinic, Vertical Extension Project under a Design & Construct contract.
The project scope consisted of the design and delivery of a new IPU building, partial refurbishment of the existing operational facility, and the addition of a multi-deck car park.
The complex build had restricted site access requiring a high level of traffic and safety management. Works were delivered in a live and operational environment on a main thoroughfare road in Prahran, Melbourne.
The scope of works for The Victoria Clinic was as follows:
- Demolition of the building closest to Malvern Road
- Major services and infrastructure diversions
- Relocation of the existing substation
- Construction of 5 level IPU, with courtyard roof
- Partial major refurbishment and services upgrades to existing ground level operations
- Multi-level car park, including basement
The project reached Practical Completion in May 2023.
