Located in the heart of Darling Harbour on Sydney’s western CBD fringe, Kane Constructions proudly completed the $10 million Tumbalong Green Stage Upgrade project, as part of the NSW Government initiative.
Underpinned by Kane’s extensive Glue Laminated Mass Timber and Community Sector experience, Kane partnered with Darling Harbour Live and TTW to deliver this high profile and unique performance space.
Designed by Hassell, the stage now hosts live concerts, performances, festivals, exhibitions, and community events. The completion of the project has reinvigorated the rich harbourside precinct, providing a functional facility for future entertainment and community engagement.
The scope of work included:
- Removal of the existing sail roof
- Foundation works
- Construction of a new steel and sustainable laminated glulam timber structure with a membrane roof
- Construction of a raised performance stage
- Installation of two new 9m x 5m HD LED screens
- Replacement of existing fences, and refurbishment of timber cladding
- Supply, install and connection of AV equipment
- Installation of stage lighting electrical
- Installation of acoustic reflected ceiling and cabling works
The project reached Practical Completion in April 2024.
